UC San Diego Internal medicine residents who took part in a research block during this academic year will present their work in a poster session at the Second Annual UC San Diego Internal Medicine Resident Research Symposium on May 5, 2016, from 6 to 9 p.m.
The symposium hosts are Wolfgang Dillmann, MD, Helen M. Ranney Distinguished Professor and Chair of the Department of Medicine; Simerjot K. Jassal, MD, Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program; and Lori Wan, MD, Director of the Combined Medicine-Pediatrics Residency Program.
“We think this will be a wonderful way for residents who have participated in research to share their accomplishments, and to inspire residents who plan to participate in the future,” said Dr. Jassal.
“We hope this will also serve to fuel future projects and create more mentorship opportunities for our residents.”
Last year, 34 residents presented their research at the symposium, which attracted more than 80 residents and faculty members.
This year’s symposium will take place at the Medical Education and Telemedicine (MET) Building Learning Centers (Rooms 141-143) on the School of Medicine campus in La Jolla.
Faculty members and trainees are encouraged to attend. The Internal Medicine Resident Research Symposium RSVP link is http://evite.me/VedAcYKWVS (Safari, Firefox or Chrome browsers only).
Resident research topics and publications from prior years are posted on the Internal Medicine Residency Program website.
